Who this policy applies to
The GDPR applies to this site regardless of where you're located — including the US and UK — because we process your data from Spain. If you're a UK resident, we also treat this policy as satisfying the UK GDPR.
What data we collect
- Your email address, if you request our buyer's guide or contact us.
- Any details you volunteer in an enquiry form — for example, budget, timeline, target region, or your visa or mortgage situation.
- Basic technical and usage data collected automatically as you browse (see our Cookie Policy).
Why we collect it
To send you the guide or information you requested, to answer your enquiry, to — only where you explicitly ask for it — introduce you to an English-speaking mortgage broker, property lawyer, gestoría or relocation specialist, and to keep aggregate, anonymised statistics on how the site is used so we can improve it.
Legal basis
Your consent, and only your consent — given by explicitly, actively ticking a checkbox when you submit a form (never pre-ticked for you), plus our legitimate interest in operating and securing this website. Where a form offers it, sharing your details with a partner professional is a separate, optional checkbox from the one that gets you the guide — ticking one doesn't tick the other.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We only share it with a partner — a mortgage broker, lawyer, gestoría or relocation service — when you've separately and explicitly opted in to that, for example via the "also let me know if a partner could help" checkbox on the buyer's guide form, or by asking to be matched with one directly. We also use hosting and technical providers who may process data on our behalf as processors under the GDPR, strictly to keep the site running.
Retention
We keep your data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, or request a copy of it (data portability). Email hello@greenspainproperty.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD (www.aepd.es), or your own country's equivalent authority if you are based elsewhere in the EU or UK.
Children
This site is intended for adults researching a property purchase or relocation and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
